A 7-week small-group program for children ages 8–11

Growing Emotional Strength

Big Feelings. Greater Understanding. Practical Strategies.

Children experience big feelings for many different reasons. Growing Emotional Strength helps children better understand those feelings, recognize how emotions can show up in their bodies, and explore practical strategies they can draw on when emotions become strong.

Through guided learning, games, movement, creative activities, role-play, and hands-on experiences, children learn in ways that are active, meaningful, and engaging.

What Your Child Will Explore

  • Understanding and identifying emotions
  • Recognizing body signals
  • Navigating sadness
  • Navigating anger
  • Navigating worry
  • Self-regulation strategies
  • Confidence and personal strengths
  • Self-care and emotional well-being

Children aren't taught to avoid difficult emotions. They're supported in understanding what they're experiencing and developing a wider range of strategies for responding to those feelings.

Weekly Session in Review

Families stay connected to the learning with key concepts, strategies, and ideas for continuing conversations and skill development at home.

Intentionally Small Groups

Smaller groups create greater opportunities for participation, guided learning, peer interaction, and connection.

Experience You Can Feel Confident In

Growing Emotional Strength is facilitated by Christine, CYW, founder of Socially Connected Kids, with more than 20 years of experience supporting children and youth.

Her approach combines professional experience with empathy, strengths-based practice, positive relationships, and meaningful opportunities for children to learn through participation.

Could This Be the Right Group for Your Child?

Growing Emotional Strength is designed for children who can participate in a small group with general facilitator support rather than dedicated 1:1 assistance.

Still wondering whether the program is a good match?

Give Them Something They Can Take With Them

A strategy explored today can become a tool a child draws on tomorrow. A better understanding of a feeling can become greater self-awareness. A successful experience can become confidence to try again.

That's the kind of growth Socially Connected Kids is designed to nurture.
